brand Id, Poetry + other designs for caldmore comm unity garden

my latest project with Caldmore community garden was a poetry trail – 70+ poems of all shapes and sizes, hidden around the garden – launched in january 2025 plus a teatowel created too to be sold as a fundraiser. the poetry workshops were run by poets prattlers and pandemonialists, involving local children, adults and local poets.

I have been working with this wonderful place on their brand id and creative projects and events since 2011. This film explains what the caldmore community garden is about and what it does. At the beginning, I hand-drew their logo because i observed that everything in this garden was hand-made, hand painted, hand planted. the colourful logo captured the ‘vibe’ of this hub, and highlights ‘unity’ (I love a bit of wordplay) There are few places in the UK more multi-cultural and unifying than this and I love it.

This brand id has allowed me to draw and illustrate.

They tend to ask me to design their festival of light promotions too. A magic and postitive event where the community really comes out to play.

Another major project with caldmore community garden was a nature trail, created just as we emerged from lock-down. I illustrated and produced signs illustrating and informing garden visitors about creatures and nature.
