Jewellery Quarter Cemetry print project – how to grieve

as we were opening up during lockdown I was grieving the loss of my mum. i managed to get a commission from the Jewellery Quarter Cemeteries Project, to develop a guide some of the symbolism to be found there. I collaborated with Lock up press in walsall to letterpress and make handmade books with peter cartwright. We produced 40 limited edition artist books and they were auctioned and sold via the cemeteries fundraising events to raise money for the project. We of course used the font baskerville as John BAskerville, (d.1775) is buried – after a bit of a journey – in Warstone lane Cemetery.
